"Imperfection in nature is, to me, inherently beautiful and intriguing. I take great care selecting the organic materials I use in my artwork, looking for the blemished and less than perfect. To counterbalance the raw, natural aspects of my pieces, I incorporate various graphic elements. I rely heavily on the use of negative or open space to achieve a clean, uncomplicated design style. I make a conscious effort to not overwork my pieces. My aim is to visually evoke a feeling of solace and tranquility. Over my lifetime I've explored a broad spectrum of mediums. Each one has enabled me to evolve and develop my personal creative identity. My current body of work is a clear reflection of my appreciation for nature and it's profound effect on me." Nancy Buckely
